1974-75 (Sophomore): Played in 26 games…scored 292 points, averaging 11.2 points per game…made 130-of-319 field-goal attempts…was 32-of-50 from the free-throw line…had 101 rebounds and 38 assists…scored in double figures 15 times…had a 28-point, seven-rebound performance vs. Hillsdale…made 11 field goals in the contest…scored 24 points against New Hampshire College…had 21 points against Eastern Illinois…scored 19 points against Steubenville…had an 18-point performance vs. Ashland…scored 17 points against Nebraska-Omaha…had 16 points and eight rebounds vs. Walsh…also had 16 points against Southern California College…had 16 vs. St. Joseph’s (Ind.).
1973-74 (Freshman): Played in 24 games…scored 453 points, averaging 18.8 points per game…made 201-of-512 field-goal attempts…was 51-of-83 from the free-throw line...had 123 rebounds and 40 assists…scored in double figures 21 times…in the second game of his YSU career, came off the bench to score 40 points against San Francisco State…made 17 field goals in the contest and was 6-of-9 from the free-throw line…later in the campaign had a 36-point effort against Philadelphia Textile…made 17 field goals in the contests…had 29 points against Georgia State…scored 26 against Kenyon, knocking down 13 field goals…had 25 points against Alliance…scored 24 points against Cleveland State and Clarion…also had a 23-point outing vs. the Vikings…had 22 points against Buffalo and Ohio Dominican.
High School: Was an all-city, all-region and all-section selection at Crispus Attuck High School in Indianapolis.
Post YSU: Graduated from YSU with a degree in Sociology…works as an Asset Resolution Specialist for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development…helped develop and implement My Brother’s Keeper Youth Job Fair Program for at-risk youth for the city of Indianapolis…he and his wife, Georgann, have two children – Anthony Mitchell Jr. and Lauren Mitchell…resides in Indianapolis.
