Career Notes: Posted a 20-12 overall record…appeared in 66 games, making 46 starts…threw 347 innings and struck out 265 batters, both of which were school records…pitched at least 90 innings in his final three years…was YSU’s most recent Horizon League Pitcher of the Year until the program won the honor in each of the past two seasons…signed with the Baltimore Orioles following his YSU career.

2010: Second-team All-Horizon League selection as a pitcher…started 14 games in his final season at YSU…pitched at least five innings in every start…went seven-or-more innings on 10 occasions…had one of the best winning records in school history for a starter going 8-1 on the mound…won his first six decisions of the year…struck out at least five batters in 12 starts and had seven-or-more K’s in seven games…finished with a 5.60 ERA and 94 strikeouts in 99.2 IP…he broke his own school record for innings pitched by two thirds of an inning…opened the year with a 6.2 IP performance allowing just four runs as the Penguins defeated New Orleans…struck out 13 batters and walked just one in a complete-game win over Walsh (3/12)…had 10 strikeouts, scattering four hits and allowing one earned run in a seven-inning outing at Butler (3/26)…was named the Horizon League’s Pitcher of the Week following his effort against the Bulldogs…had 10 punch outs in seven innings during a 15-5 YSU win at Valparaiso (5/20)…in his final career appearance at the Horizon League Tournament, pitched seven innings against UIC while striking out eight and walking one in an 8-4 YSU victory...fanned seven and pitched nine innings in earning a no decision against Valparaiso (4/10)…went eight strong innings with seven K’s vs. the Flames (4/2) as YSU bashed its way to a 20-8 victory…at Cincinnati, struck out seven in five innings, his shortest start of the season…at La Salle, pitched 7.2 innings and struck out five in a victory…walked two-or-fewer batters in eight of his 14 starts…threw more than 100 pitches in all but three starts.

2009: A true workhorse, hit the 90-inning mark for the second straight season...Started 13 games for the second straight season...Averaged just over 6.2 innings per start, including going eight-or-more six times...A lingering back injury contributed to a 6.10 ERA and a 3-6 record...Struck out a 70 batters, an average of 7.0 per nine innings...Fanned a season-best 11 hitters in a complete-game victory over Cleveland State on April 11... Struck out 10 a week earlier to defeat Butler...Struck out six-or-more hitters in seven of his 13 starts...Was back to his dominant self in April, going 2-1 with a 2.65 ERA in five appearances...Made four starts and went the distance three times...Allowed 13 runs, 10 of which were earned, on 31 hits and nine walks in 34 innings...Struck out 34 batters in the span, and opposing batters hit just.248 against him...Walked two batters or fewer in eight of his starts...Earned his first win at Wright State, holding the Raiders to four runs on 11 hits in nine innings on March 20...Struck out seven, and battled the Horizon League’s top hitting team (.318 AVG) while allowing the Penguins to win the league opener...Earned his other two wins in back-to-back starts against Butler and Cleveland State... Surrendered just five hits and struck out 10 in nine innings against Butler in YSU’s 6-1 victory... Did not allow a hit and struck out nine through the first five innings...Held Cleveland State to three earned runs on 11 hits while striking out a season-high 11.

2008: Named the Horizon League Pitcher of the Year and first-team all-league...Joined former Major League Baseball fourth-round draft choice Justin Thomas (2005) and first-round pick Brad Hennessey (2001) as the only Penguins in school history to be named conference pitcher of the year...Also earned Academic All-Horizon League honors...Went 6-1 with five complete-games in seven starts against Horizon League opponents during the regular season...Went the distance in five of those wins... Struck out a league-high 65 batters and walked just 14 in 99.0 innings...Tied YSU’s single season record and led the league in innings pitched...Was 6-3 overall with a 3.55 ERA...Pitched in 15 games, starting 13 and coming out of the bullpen twice in midweek contests...Walked two or fewer batters in 12 of his starts... ranked 16th nationally in fewest walks per nine innings (1.27)...Ranked second in the Horizon League in ERA, third in opposing batting average (.258) and sixth in starts...Defeated Butler and Valparaiso twice, Wright State and Cleveland State...Earned the win in four straight starts from April 19 to May 10 in which he was on the mound for all but two of the 36 outs recorded...Allowed one run on eight hits and struck out four to earn his first win against Butler (3/22).. Also went 1-for-4 at the plate against the Bulldogs en route to being named the Horizon League Pitcher of the Week…Held Valparaiso to one run on seven hits and struck out 10 to earn his second win (4/5)...Defeated Butler again despite allowing five runs on nine hits (4/19)...Earned his fourth complete-game victory over Cleveland State, allowing seven runs - six of which came in the third and fourth innings - and striking out 10...earned the win against Wright State, allowing four earned runs on 10 hits and striking out 10 for the second consecutive start (5/4)... Earned his final win against Valparaiso, holding the Crusaders to one run on five hits while striking out seven in a complete game victory...Named the Horizon League Pitcher of the Week for his effort...Left with a 2-1 lead in the seventh inning of the first round of the Horizon League Tournament but did not factor in the decision...Also held Georgia Tech to one run on five hits in seven innings in his first start (2/24).

2007: Appeared in 22 games and started six...Was the team’s only pitcher to finish with a winning record (3-2)...Was third on the team in appearances and wins and fourth in strikeouts (36), innings (58.1) and starts...Allowed two earned runs or fewer in 16 of his outings...Struck out five batters in 4.2 innings at Bowling Green (3/20) and against Cleveland State (4/10)...Earned his first win against BGSU, holding them to one run on two hits... Earned the win against Wright State despite allowing six runs in six innings (4/21)...Also defeated Cleveland State, throwing 1.2 innings of scoreless relief...Threw three scoreless innings out of the bullpen against Milwaukee (5/12).

High School: Was a two-time letterwinner...Played in the Northeast Ohio Coaches Association All-Star Game...Earned honorable mention All-Western Reserve Conference honors...Started the regional championship game for Twinsburg, throwing 4.2 scoreless innings... Picked up the victory over North Royalton in the regional semifinal a day earlier... Was also Twinsburg’s starter in the State semifinal game against Lewis Center Olentangy.
