Men and Women
Finish in 19th at Notre Dame
Invitational

-- The Youngstown State men's
and women's
cross country squads both captured
19th place as the teams competed in
the Notre Dame Invitational on
Friday at the Notre Dame nine-hole
golf course.
On the women's side, junior Lauren Blase led the Penguins
after finishing in 66th, with a time
of 18:51. Junior Justin Dickman finished in 80th with a time of
26:29 to pace the men's squad.
Sophomore Jake Lape finished the
event in 103rd with a time of 26:44.
Senior J.D. Sheppard finished with a
time of 26:58 placing 116th.
Also for the
men sophomore Rick Lape fnished in
132nd after running a time of 27:14.
Sophomore Jim Ramson had a time of
27:38, finishing in 149th. Both
sophomores Joe Copploe and Scott
Denham ran a time of 28:04, placing
in 163rd and 164th. Senior Harold
Jones was 180th with a 28:54 and
fellow senior Dan Nemergut finished
189th after running a 29:37. Sophomore Kayla Witmer was
next for the
women's team placing 77th with a
time of 18:59. In 148th was
junior Lisa Lee who had a time of
20:12. Four spots behind in 152nd
was freshman Jocelyn Steiner who
finished with a time of 20:22.
Freshman Liz Shivers finished in
164th with a 20:50. Kelcie Witmer a
sophomore ran a 21:05, good for
173rd. Senior Amy Moore took 184th
place with a time of 21:35. Jen
Roman a junior, finished in 186th
with a time of 21:45. Madelyn McGhee
round out the event for the Penguins
with a 190th finished and a time of
22:04.
Both squads will return to action on Friday when they compete at the
All-Ohio Championships in Delaware,
Ohio. |
