Cross Country
Squads Finish 22nd at All-Ohio
Championships

-- The Youngstown State men's
and women's cross country teams each
finished in 22nd place at the
All-Ohio Championships at Delaware
Golf Club on Friday
afternoon.
For the women junior Lauren Blase led the way finishing with
a 5K time of 19:35, good for 51st.
Sophomore Kayla Witmer finished in
62nd with a time of 19:40. Lisa Lee,
a junior, finished in 146th after a
time of 21:05. Senior Madelyn McGhee
took 175th with a time of 21:36.
Rounding out the scoring five In 199th was freshman Jocelyn Steiner
with a time of 22:11.
Sophomore Kelcie
Witmer finished 210th with a time of
22:27. Junior Dawn Goodwin took
216th after a time of 23:00.
Junior Justin Dickman
led the men's squad finishing in 80th with an
8K time of 27:23. Finishing second for the men was
sophomore Jake Lape, who finished in
89th with a time of 27:30. Senior
J.D. Sheppard ran a time of
28:01, which was good for 119th, and
sophomore Jim Ramson ran a 28:24.
finishing in 147th. The final scorer
for the Penguins was sophomore Joe Copploe
finishing 156th
with a time of 28:39.
Senior Dan Nemergut
finished in 169th after running a
29:00, and sophomore Scott Denham
had a 227th-place time of 30:26.
Both squads will return to action on Oct. 18 at the Falcon
Invitational in Bowling Green, Ohio. |
