Anderson Named Horizon League Scholar Athlete of the Week

    Indianapolis -- Youngstown State senior thrower Bethany Anderson has been named the Horizon League Scholar Athlete of the Week, the League announced Wednesday.
    Anderson, a native of Jamestown, N.Y., finished fifth in the hammer at the Cardinal Invitational on Saturday with a mark of 176-7. That distance was just shy of the NCAA Mideast Regional automatic qualifying standard, which she has already eclipsed.
    Academically, Anderson is a five-time Academic All-Horizon League honoree. She holds a 3.46 grade-point average in physical educaction.
