Cross Country/Track & Field Championship Tradition

Head coach Brian Gorby has more championship rings than fingers from his success at YSU.The Youngstown State cross country and track and field programs have enjoyed 16 conference championships since 1994. Starting with the 1994 men's cross country championship, the Penguins captured eight Mid-Continent Conference titles in a four-year span. Included in that dominating run was a sweep of the cross country, indoor and outdoor crowns by the men's team during the 1996-97 academic year. The women's track and field team put together a similar string of dominance in the Horizon League by winning five out of six titles from 2004-06.

Below is a table outlining YSU's success in cross country and track and field.
