Detroit Gets Past Women's Tennis, 6-1

    Detroit, Mich.-- The Youngstown State women's tennis looked to continued its winning-streak against Horizon League opponents, but fell 6-1 to Detroit on Sunday afternoon.

   Emily Thayer and Kelly Culbertson teamed up at No. 2 doubles for the 8-2 win over Stephanie Hill and Aneta Maricevic. The Titans, however, won 8-4 in the No. 1 spot and 8-0 at No. 3 doubles to take the early lead over the Penguins.

    Culbertson picked up YSU's only point with her win at No. 6 singles which she won in the third set tie-breaker. Culbertson won the her first set 6-2 but then fell 6-7(4-7) and then came back in the third set to win 10-7.

    The Penguins will conclude the regular season at home on Monday against Valparaiso. Match time is set for Noon.
