Kathary and Trapp
Earn Seventh Doubles Win of the
Season in 7-0 loss at Butler
Indianapolis, Ind. --
The
Butler Bulldogs proved to be too
much for the Youngstown State men's
tennis team as it dropped the match
7-0 to the Horizon League opponent
on Saturday afternoon. Scott Kathary
and Ryan Trapp teamed up at No. 1
doubles to earn the 8-6 victory over
Eric Breitenbach and Chris Heron.
The win marks Kathary and Trapp's
seventh victory at No. 1 doubles for
the season.
The Bulldogs went on to pick up the
wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles for the
early 1-0 lead.
Kathary also battled Breitenbach at
No. 1 singles but fell 6-3, 7-6
(8-6). Butler claimed the other five
singles matches in straight sets for
the 7-0 win. The team also remains
undefeated in league action.
The Penguins will return home to the
YSU tennis courts to play Green Bay
at 2 p.m. on Friday. |
