Tennis Falls to Xavier,
7-0

The Youngstown State men's tennis team traveled to
Xavier University to play the
Musketeers on Saturday evening.
Xavier swept the doubles and the
singles competition to win the match
7-0.
In
singles, Scott Kathary lost to
Xavier's Doug Matthews 6-2, 6-3 at
the No. 1 spot. At No. 2 singles, Tom Barth was defeated by
Jeremy Miller 6-4, 6-3. In the No. 3
spot Ra'ees Ismail beat Diego
Cerzosimo 6-0, 6-1. Brian Meek lost
to Mike Dieciuc 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (0-2). J.T. Torbeck beat Ryan Trapp 6-2, 6-2
and at No. 6 singles Adam Shaeffer defeated
Jason Trapp in the third set
tie-breaker 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.
At doubles competition, Matthews and
Miller beat Barth and Kathary 8-5. Ismail and Torbeck defeated Trapp
and Trapp 8-6 and in the No. 3 spot
Palmenter and Schubert beat Meek and
Cerzosimo 8-5.
The men's tennis team will play again on Saturday
against St. Francis (Pa.) at 4 p.m.
