Penguins Pick Up Third Straight Win Beating Bucknell 5-2

Boardman - The Youngstown State women's tennis team won its third consecutive dual match with a 5-2 win over Bucknell on Saturday at the Boardman Tennis Center.

The Penguins picked up the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. At No. 2, Imaan Hassim and Cassandra Moraleja won 6-4 while at No. 3, Tamara Teufl and Ana Stroe won by a score of 6-3.

In singles, the Guins won four of six matches. Winning for the Penguins were Sofia Macias, Anastasiia Khokhlova, Imaan Hassim and Tamara Teufl at spots one through four.

At No. 1, Macias beat Paige Leavy 6-4, 6-4. At No. 2, Khokhlova won 6-0, 6-4 over Mishi Papich. Hassim defeated Cayla Koch 6-1 and 7-5 at No. 3. At No. 4, Teufl beat Schuyler La Barge 6-4, 6-4.

The Penguins are next in action on Friday at Saint Francis (Pa.).
