Penguins Cruise Past Saint Francis, 6-1

Boardman - The Youngstown State women's tennis team picked up a 6-1 win over Saint Francis on Saturday at the Boardman Tennis Center. 

The Penguins (3-1) earned the doubles points and won five of six singles matches against SFU (1-4).

In doubles play, YSU won at No. 3 by default and at No. 2, Sofia Macias and Imaan Hassim won a 6-4 decision to. The match at No. 1 was unfinished as the Penguins clinched the point.

In singles, the Guins earned wins a No. 1-4 singles while the Red Flash picked up a win at No. 5 singles. YSU won by default at No. 6.

At No. 1, Dominika Lackova won 7-6, 3-6, 10-2. At No. 2, Noelly Nsimba picked up a 6-3, 6-0 victory. At No. 3, Macias was a 6-1, 6-4 winner while at No. 4 Hassim won 6-1, 6-1.

YSU is next in action on Saturday when it plays at Buffalo. First serve against the Bulls is set for 1 p.m.
