Penguins Win Home Finale Over Cleveland State, 6-1

The Youngstown State women's tennis had a strong all-around performance in a win over Cleveland State on Saturday night at the Boardman Tennis Center.

With the win, the Penguins are tied for first with Cleveland State and UIC in the Horizon Leauge as the three teams all have 6-1 and league marks. YSU improves to 12-8 overall while the Vikings drop to 12-9 on the year.

The Guins claimed wins in two of the three doubles matches with wins at No. 2 and No. 3.

YSU won the first four completed singles matches in straight sets as Cassandra Moraleja, Nehel Sahni, Sofia Macias, Noelly Nsimba and Dominika Lackova.

It was the final home matches for Lackova and Sahni who both won to help the Penguins pull even in the league standings with the Vikings and Flames.

YSU is next in action at Green Bay next Saturday.
