Burak, Hankle Pick Up Wins in Dual at St. Bonaventure

Olean, N.Y. - The Youngstown State women's tennis team picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles in a 5-2 loss to St. Bonaventure on Saturday at the SBU Tennis Center.

Marta Burak and Lauren Hankle both picked up singles wins for the Penguins. It was the second wins of the weekend for the duo at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots.

Burak earned a 7-5, 6-0 victory over Fatya Amiri while Hankle held on for a 6-2, 5-7, 11-9 three-set win over Manuela Marin-Salcedo.

At No. 3, Carolyn Jesko dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision to Amanda Pallikunnel while Gimena Puppo lost 6-3, 7-6 (4) to Kathryn Kvas at No. 4.

Hankle and Burak won at No. 1 doubles by a score of 8-3 while Jesko and Puppo dropped an 8-4 decision.

The Penguins play host to Xavier this Saturday at the Boardman Tennis Center.
