Tyesha Kizer's First Career Goal Lifts Soccer to 1-0 Win over Duquesne

Pittsburgh, Pa. -- Freshman Tyesha Kizer scored her first career goal with just over five minutes left in the match to give the Youngstown State women's soccer team a 1-0 victory over Duquesne on Sunday morning at Rooney Field.

Junior goalkeeper Ali Viola was credited with seven saves and picked up her first shutout of the season.

Sophomore Chelsey Haney and freshman Katie Hohmann were each credited with an assist on Kizer's game-winning goal.

The Guins improve to 1-0 on the year while the Dukes fall to 0-2.

Duquesne posted 10 more shots than the Guins, 17-7, and YSU only took two shots on goal compared to seven for the Dukes.

The Guins face Robert Morris, Friday, Aug. 24, at 5 p.m. in Moon Township, Pa.
