Penguins Fall Twice on Day Two at Kickin' Chicken Classic

Conway, S.c. -- The Youngstown State softball team dropped two decision to Alabama, 7-0, and Coastal Carolina, 9-1, on day two of the Kickin' Chicken Classic hosted by Coastal Carolina.

With the losses, the Penguins fall to 0-4 on the season.

Against the Crimson Tide, junior Alexis Roach was the lone Penguin to tally a hit. Alabama scored single runs in the first, second and fourth innings and used a four-spot in the third to put the game out of reach.

In the nightcap against Coastal Carolina, senior Sarah Dowd posted a run-scoring double while junior Cali Mikovich and freshman Maddi Lusk, who doubled and scored YSU's only run, each collected a hit.

The Chanticleers tallied 12 hits and scored in all but one inning.

The Penguins close out the classic against Towson, Sunday, at 10 a.m.
