Konner Ayris is in his first year as assistant coach with the Youngstown State men's and women's tennis programs.

A native of Puyallup, Wash., he played under current YSU head coach Mark Klysner for two years at Green River Junior College, which was ranked in the top 10 in junior colleges in the nation. In 2007, he won the Pacific Northwest Junior College Championships at Green River.

As a player on the junior circuit in the Pacific Northwest, won back to back district titles in High School before.

He earned a degree in Social Science from Green River before going onto FAA-CTI school for  Air Traffic Control where he graduated in 2009.

Ayris has been a member of the Lakewood Tennis Club in Lakewood, Wash., for the past 15 years. He claimed a Southwest Washington sectional title for the Lakewood Tennis Club in 2010, and the Pacific Northwest Open Mixed Doubles title in 2011.

He played for two years on the USTA circuit, rated 4.0 in 2009-10, before being moved up to a 4.5 in 2011.
