The Youngstown State men's tennis team was honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as a 2017 All-Academic Team while six student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, the organization announced on Tuesday.
YSU is coming off the best season in school history posting a 19-8 overall record and 5-2 mark in Horizon League play. The 19 wins were a school record while the Guins advanced to the HL semifinals for the first time in school history.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letterwinner, 2.) have a grade-point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).
