Season tickets for the 2018-19 Youngstown State men's and women's basketball season are currently on sale.
From Oct. 1 through Oct. 5, any new or renewed season-ticket order will receive a coupon good for two free tacos courtesy of Hot Head Burrito. The coupon will be mailed with the season tickets.
There are three different packages available for Penguins fans to enjoy the action at Beeghly Center. The Penguin Package, which includes a ticket in the lower chairback section to every men's and women's game, is available for $175. A season pass to all 13 men's games is $145, and a pass to the women's 16-game home slate is $130.
The best seats at midcourt in the lower chairback sections are available exclusively to Penguin Club Courtside Coaches Club members at the Royal Level or above.
The women's home and season opener is Tuesday, Nov. 6, against Robert Morris while the men's first home game is slated against Heidelberg on Monday, Nov. 12. Tipoff for both games is set for 7 p.m.
Women's head coach John Barnes' 2018-19 squad returns a solid core in seniors Sarah Cash, Alison Smolinski and Melinda Trimmer, junior Mary Dunn and sophomores Chelsea Olson and McKenah Peters. Along with Robert Morris and the nine-game Horizon League slate, the Penguins host Loyola-Chicago, Carlow, Yale, Akron, St. Francis (Pa.) and Thiel at the Beeghly Center.
Men's head coach Jerrod Calhoun enters his second season at the helm of the Penguins. Last season, the Penguins' energetic defensive style broke the school record for steals in a season with 266. Leading the Penguins in 2018-19 are senior Noe Anabir, sophomores Michael Akuchie, Naz Bohannon and Garrett Covington and transfer junior Devin Morgan. The men's docket includes Westminster, Central Michigan and Western Michigan as well as the nine-game Horizon League slate.
