Senior Dominique Barnes tied a school single-game record with 11 receptions for 134 yards and redshirt freshman Kurt Hess threw for 189 yards with two touchdowns, but the Youngstown State football team (0-1) lost to No. 14/19 Penn State (1-0), 44-14, in Head Coach Eric Wolford’s debut in front of a crowd of 101,213 at Beaver Stadium.

Coach Eric Wolford's first television and radio shows are set for Wednesday and Thursday night. The television show will debut on Wednesday at 7 p.m. on WFMJ live from the Canfield Fair. The live radio show on 570 WKBN is set for Thursday at 6 p.m. at the O'Charley's location in Boardman.

The Youngstown State football team ended its fall camp with a 106-play scrimmage on Saturday afternoon at Stambaugh Stadium. Following the workout, Head Coach Eric Wolford said redshirt freshman Kurt Hess had won the battle to be the Guins' starting quarterback entering the season.
