Sal Guagliardo, a native of Tampa, Fla., is in his fourth year as a member of the Youngstown State coaching staff as an undergraduate student assistant.

He joined the Penguin coaching staff in 2008. He works with the defensive staff on gamedays, the offseason and throughout the week.

Guagliardo graduated from Jesuit High School 2008. He suffered two knee injuries while playing football and became a student coach his senior season for Jesuit for Coach Joe Ross.
Prior to coming to YSU in August, he worked for Berkley Prep Football under coach Dom Ciao.

He is the son of Sal and Cathy Guagliardo and has two sisters. His academic interest is business.
