Was a four-year letterwinner at Colonel Crawford High School and named team captain as a senior... Only player in school history to be a three-time all-state selection... Named first-team All-Ohio as a junior after batting .354 and striking out 182 batters in 130 innings pitched with a 0.27 earned-run average... Tied a single-season school record with a 0.00 earned-run average... Named all-conference four times... Was a three-time all-district selection...
