We have been privileged to enjoy a tremendous amount of success on the playing fields and in the classroom from our four football national championships and numerous conference crowns to our many Academic All-American and All-District honorees. Over the last three academic years, we have won 15 Horizon League championships and five teams earned NCAA Regional Tournament berths.

Academically, our student-athletes boasted an impressive 3.11 grade-point average at the end of the 2016 spring semester. Out of 359 student-athletes, 223 (62 percent) recorded a grade-point average higher than 3.0. For two of the last three years, Youngstown State had at least 30 Academic All-Horizon League selections. Going back even further, since January 2010, YSU student-athletes have maintained at least a 3.0 GPA in 12 of the last 13 semesters.

YSU Athletics is committed to ensuring our student-athletes understand that being a collegiate student-athlete is both a privilege as well as great opportunity and giving back to the community is an important education tool we use to demonstrate that philosophy. Our students and staff annually participate in over 100 community events, serving over 10,000 patrons.

Finally, as a University, Youngstown State offers more than 100 undergraduate programs backed by a strong tradition of teaching and research. Youngstown State's colleges include the Beeghly College of Education; the Bitonte College of Health and Human Services; the College of Creative Arts & Communication; the College of Graduate Studies; the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences; the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics; the Honors College; and the Williamson College of Business Administration.
