The Youngstown State Penguin Club and the Dana School of Music are hosting a unique event called Live at the Lake on Thursday, May 4. Live at the Lake features dinner and music by The First Class Big Band.
The event will be held at beautiful The Lake Club just south of Youngstown. Cocktails and appetizers are available beginning at 6 p.m. with inspiration coming from the spirit of the Copa Room at the original Sands Hotel. Musicians from the YSU Jazz Quartet will provide entertainment before dinner.
Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The menu includes petite filet, glazed chicken, potatoes, pasta with vodka sauce and New York Style Cheesecake with Fresh Strawberries for dessert.
At 7:30 p.m., the First Class Big Band begins their performance as the 17-piece Jazz/Swing orchestra plays classics from the Vintage Vegas era. Enjoy the sounds of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, Benny Goodman, Billy May and the iconic Frank Sinatra.
Reservations are $125 per person or $1,000 for a table of eight. For questions or more information contact the Penguin Club at (330) 941-3801.
Proceeds from the event will go to the YSU Penguin Club to support student-athlete scholarships and the Dana School's Tony Leonardi Jazz Scholarship.
