The Beeghly Center Natatorium is the home of the Youngstown State University women's swimming and diving teams. It is located in the Northwest corner of the facility.
The pool features a diving well and a 25-yard by 50-meter swimming pool. With 10 lanes, the racing course starts at six feet and reaches to 16 feet at its deepest.
The Natatorium is also equipped with two one-meter springboards and a three-meter springboard. There are also five-meter, seven-and-a-half meter and 10-meter diving platforms. The arena features an 800-seat capacity on the east side, a high-powered sound system and four underwater viewing windows.
In the summer of 2018, a massive renovation took place that featured updates to the deck, lighting, scoreboard, timing system among other enhancements.
The Beeghly Center Natatorium and Youngstown State played host to the 1977, 1980 and 1981 NCAA Division II Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.
Suggested parking is the M-70 lot across Fifth Avenue from the Youngstown State campus just south of the McDonald's. Please note that during the week, YSU classes are in session and parking is extremely limited. More parking is available during the weekend. Other options are the M-60 Deck located just south of the Beeghly Center and Andrews Wellness and Recreation Center. Parking is $5.
Open Swimming Hours
Generally, the facility is open Monday through Friday from 6-8 a.m., 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4:15-7 p.m. On Saturday, the facility is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Beeghly Natatorium is open to all Faculty and Students with a valid YSU ID. A lifeguard must be on duty during swimming hours.
