Women’s Golf: Formeck Takes Medalist Honors in Playoff at Detroit Titans Invite

Redford, Mich. --
It took 38 holes to determine a winner at the Detroit Titans Invitational, but freshman Samantha Formeck edged out teammate Katie Rogner on the second hole of the playoff to take medalist honor at Western Golf & Country Club.

Both Formeck and Rogner shot a 152 at the event, along with Meghan Hunter of Ferris State. Hunter was eliminated on the first playoff hole as she bogeyed, while Formeck and Rogner shot par. On the next hole Formeck sunk a birdie to claim the top spot.

Cracking the top 10 was junior Brittany Stillwagon who finished with a 159 (79-80). In 11th was  junior Ann Ciavarella who carded a 163 (82-81) at the event. Senior Mollie Boney took 16th after a two-round total of 167 (84-83).
