One of the greatest ever to don a Penguin baseball uniform, Don Leshnock was the first ever to make it to the major leagues from the Penguin baseball program. He played for Dom Rosselli from 1966 to 1968, foregoing his senior year of eligibility as he turned professional by signing a contract with the Detroit Tigers. He still holds the records for the most victories in a single season (7), ranks second in the Penguin baseball record book for lowest earned run average in a career (1.61), and most complete games in a season (7), is third on the list for most innings pitched in a season (63), most games started in a season (8), most victories in a career (14) and most strikeouts in a season (11), is fifth on the list in most complete games in a career (15) and most strikeouts in a season (60), is seventh in most innings pitched in a career (140) and is eighth on the all-time list of most games started in a career (18).
