The radio home for the
football program for the first time since 1983 is Clear Channel Radio
Youngstown’s 570 AM WKBN. Clear Channel holds the rights to broadcast all
Penguin athletic events through June 30, 2011.
Play-by-play voice Bob Hannon returns for his 17th season.
Hannon, the sports director at WYTV 33, has called more than 200 YSU games since
1990. He is also the host of the Penguin Playbook Weekly Radio show featuring
Coach Heacock on 570 WKBN.
Joining Hannon for his sixth year to provide analysis is
former Penguin Dick Hartzell. Hartzell, founder of Jump Stretch Fitness Bands,
was a standout placekicker from 1960-1963. He has the distinction of being Coach
Heacock’s high school football coach.
WKBN/WYFX-TV news anchor Dave Sess will will provide
sidelines reports during all of the Penguins’ contests.
WKBN/WYFX-TV weekend Sports Anchor and TV play-by-play man
Chad Krispinsky will continue to host the Fifth Quarter Show and the live
pregame Tailgame Show. |
