Penguins Eye League Showdown with Milwaukee at Miller Park
    The Youngstown State baseball team will play Milwaukee this evening in the start of a crucial three-game series that has seed implications for next week's Horizon League Tournament. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 5:30 p.m. Eastern at Miller Park, the home of the Milwaukee Brewers.
    The Penguins currently sit third in the league standings and could enter the tournament seeded anywhere from third to sixth based on the circuit's final weekend. Audio Preview
Third-Inning Outburst Helps Penguins Down Kent State, 14-9
Joe Iacobucci       Youngstown State tallied seven runs in the third and added scores in every inning other than the first and sixth to beat Kent State 14-9 on Tuesday evening at Cene Park.
    Joe Iacobucci had four hits and scored four times for YSU, which improved to 5-0 at Cene Park this season. The victory over Kent State (31-19) was YSU's second against a team with more than 30 wins in as many nights. Release | Box Score
Marzec's Three Homers Power Penguins Past Mountaineers, 13-9
Eric Marzec       Morgantown, W.Va. -- Eric Marzec hit three of Youngstown State's four home runs, and the Penguins held on to defeat West Virginia 13-9 on Monday at Hawley Field.
    Marzec's three round-trippers tied Jim Lipinski's school record set against Oakland on May 6, 2001, and the sophomore broke the single game record for total bases with 13. Release | Box Score
Swenson Earns Second League Pitcher of the Week Award

    Indianapolis -- Youngstown State sophomore Aaron Swenson has been named the Horizon League Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced on Monday.
    Swenson earned his sixth league win of the season against Valpo on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits in a complete-game effort. Release

Penguins Rally in Ninth to Give Swenson Sixth League Win

    Valparaiso, Ind. -- YSU scored two runs in the top of the ninth to help Aaron Swenson to his sixth victory in Horizon League play on Saturday at Valparaiso.
    Swenson allowed one run on five hits and a walk to improve to 6-3 overall and 6-1 in conference games. Valpo's Elliot Gibbs did not allow a run through the first eight innings before YSU scored twice in the ninth to win 2-1. Release | Game One | Game Two
